The Practical Art of Buenos
THE PRACTICAL ART OF BUÉNOS
When you install a kitchen set, you may find some awkward corners that end up as wasted space. This is bound to happen especially if you have an L-shaped or U-shaped kitchen, where valuable space could be put to better use.
That’s certainly not the case with Buenos kitchens and wardrobe solutions, which maximize space by turning it into storage areas. As Buénos’ co-founder and chief designer Ivan Wang explains, “I see kitchens as a form of practical art where hidden corners can be transformed into multi-functional components.”
But that’s not all that Buénos has to offer – this new outlet (opened in September 2008) has an exciting range of kitchen designs that will appeal to all contemporary style home owners. “Buénos kitchens have a modern and clean-cut look that bears a lot of geometrical designs,” Ivan explains.
Design and practicality also play a big role during the creation process of the kitchen sets as Buénos kitchens are not made only for cooking purposes, but as a living space where homeowners can work at the kitchen counter or simply to enjoy a cup of coffee. “I want the kitchens to look less like kitchens and more like functional lifestyle spaces,” Ivan says.
To convey the kitchen’s modern styles, a variety of surfaces and finishes is used such as veneer, high gloss and coloured glass, to name a few. For an extra touch, the solid surface of the countertop is extended on to the walls instead of using separate wall tiling and continuous veneer is applied onto the cabinetry.
On top of that, the kitchens also feature translucent solid surfaces, inverted edges and handle-less drawers that are all signature characteristics of Buénos. “We want to create something new and different for our customers,” Ivan says referring to a kitchen fitting that is delightfully shaped like a peanut.
So if you happen to walk into Buénos without knowing exactly what you want, fear not – the designer will provide ample consultation services to help customers achieve the desired look for their kitchens and wardrobes as these customizable designs fit into any home, no matter how big or small.
Buénos is located at No. 1-1, Jalan Solaris 2, Solaris Mont’ Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur. For more information, call 603-6203 0306/0309 or log on to buenos.com.my.
